Who qualifies#

U.S. universities, academic medical centers, research institutes and government research agencies. Your work email must end in .edu or .gov.

Sign up#

1. Go to hipaacertify.com/universities.
2. Under Check your eligibility, fill in your name, work email, institution and role details.
3. Click Get instant access →.
4. Open the verification email and click Verify Email Address within 24 hours. You'll be signed in to your new account.

Your account has unlimited employees and nothing to pay. Ignore any "choose a plan" or "add payment method" prompts. See Invoiced and university plans.

Signing in later#

University accounts are created without a password. The first time you want to sign in again, set one:

1. Go to hipaacertify.com/forgot-password.
2. Enter your .edu or .gov email and click Send Reset Link.
3. Choose a password from the email, then sign in.

Messages you might see#

• Instant access requires a .edu or .gov email address… Use your institutional email. If your institution uses a different domain, contact us for a manual review.
• Good news — this email already has a HIPAA Certify university account. Sign in, or use Forgot password as above.
